Brett is a creative editor known for her high-energy, multilayered, and poetic approach to storytelling across fashion, music, dance, and culture. A native New Yorker with a BA in Experimental Film/Video from Hampshire College, Brett ventured to the Twin Cities where she developed her signature kinetic style—an electrifying fusion of movement, music, and visual magic. With 20+ years experience, Brett has crafted award-winning campaigns for iconic brands including Target, Gap, Kohl's, JCPenney, Bumble and Walmart as well as music videos, shorts, web content, and the independent feature, Four Boxes.
Brett’s directorial debut, the Field Studies series, won the Best Experimental Film Award at the Austin After Dark Film Festival Fall 2020, Field Studies: Dark Version has also been selected to screen at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2020 After Dark Shorts Program, the Oregon Short Film Festival, Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles, and the Rome Independent Prisma Awards.
Additionally, Brett publishes Conduit, the only magazine that risks annihilation, with her husband, the poet, William D. Waltz.
Brett is available for editorial and directorial projects at Channel Z in Minneapolis and Northern Lights in NYC.
